Consistency is my new word for this week! You may think this is a lecture, but nope, you are wrong. This is about a dear friend of mine, who teaches me something, life changing and valuable each day.
This man has been friends with Eric ever since he moved to Trimble County, back in middle school. We have been friends for many years!
Why would I choose to write about him? Because he is amazing, terrific, fabulous and has a heart of gold! However, one trait our friend Eric Simons has, that I am in awe of, is his continuous consistency! I love it!
Let me explain! No matter where I am or what day it is, I receive a beautiful, yet simple text message, EVERYDAY! I LOVE IT! It says, Good Morning, with a sunshine. It’s never a group text and normally doesn’t say much more. However, it makes my day everyday.
I mean think about it. Everyday, this friend of yours has no expectations, doesn’t expect any response, yet reminds you it is a ‘Good Morning.’
Most may have this, but the other party expects a response or a good morning back. Not Eric! Occasionally I will respond just to remind him how much I appreciate him.
It’s nice to have consistency in a life filled with chaos and confusion. Maybe we can entitle it the ES-trend. Maybe you will follow his pattern and find someone or several people to send, individually, a ‘Good Morning.’
Maybe none of that will happen. However, I am grateful for my ES daily message. It brightens my day, EVERYDAY. I didn’t ask him to do this, he is just that special of a person and we can all learn by his small, but powerful gesture, “It’s not the big, boisterous actions you have in public, rather the small, intricate actions you do, consistently that makes the greatest impact!”
Lovers…have you told your significant other how damn sexy he or she is today? Or have you sent them Good Morning with a cute heart or kiss face? (Don’t expect anything back the ripple effect will eventually come to you).
Listen, Eric Simon’s consistency is the perfect example of making a difference, one small gesture at a time. Find your positive impact for someone else and stay consistent, you are improving the lives around you by leaps and bounds.
