When the world has you busy, but you continue to find time to write…

Lately my life has been extremely busyI can’t remember the last day I didn’t have anything to do. I have been traveling, building my business, enjoying whoever I am with at that moment or simply enjoying a new adventure, like a BBQ run!

However, It does feel like I have been a little too busy. I might need to take a break for a day. I don’t mean hold up on writing just maybe everything else. Even if I do not post everyday I always find time to write!!! It is my passion. I love all my God given gifts, I have been given, but writing is my all time favorite. It provides me with freedom to feel each emotion and all possible solutions or outcomes.

When I am writing the world seems to stand atill. Almost as if I am frozen in time. I hear the outside sounds however, when I am writing they become extraordinary background music. Motor running in the distance to the North East. Birds tweeting with a different pitch on each chord, crickets chirping an old S-10 speeds down the road accelerating almost like he hopes to arrive at his home before it breaks down and a talking Tom cat named Tommy prances the perimeter of my front yard meowing every step. Yes I have distractions, but I am content if the words are flowing.

Know what makes your world stand still and do more of that! If it is walking, take time to walk everyday. If you love live performances, find more to attend. Enjoy your life by doing more that fills your heart with happiness.

Continue to hate it, but this was a little bit better, but there must be a better way!

Purchasing a car sucks! I have been here for 3 hours, I know right, this is crazy. I have a great sales representative,  but if I were to be super honest, I just think the entire automobile industry and the purchasing of a car, is as bad as going to the dentist and receiving a root canal.

I mean let’s think about it! You spend a fortune buying a car, it takes damn near all day. Also you are continually being repremanded for driving too much and putting miles on your car. Why do we purchase a car? In reality you buy it to drive it. However, no matter what I walk away feeling like crap and need a nap. Similar to a root canal. I will continue to say it, “There must be a better way!”

This time I wrote a letter stating what I wanted and moved forward. I am not excited about the past three hours. Instead I am wore out, my friendly disposition is swiftly changing. Just take my money and let me sign my life away. If you are reading this please allow me to apologize. I am trying to grab a feel good vibration. I guess I can share with you the letter I wrote to give to the dealer, so we were on the same playing field. (I will include the letter on my next post)

I must take a moment to shout out Rob Mac, at the Kia store in Louisville Kentucky. Although my sweet disposition was quickly diminshing because of the three hour wait; he did fill all my expectations from my letter. He was amazing! He was honest, kind, caring, provided me with options and he has many years of experience. Therefore, if you must proceed to purchase a vehicle in Kentucky, he is your man. He continually let me ramble, he answered any question and although the ‘paper work’ took forever for me to purchase my car from a lease, he was an amazing representative. (Please tell him I sent you, if you decide to search him out.

A little word of advice only lease a car if you live in a metropolitan area. If you live in a rural area look at your sales representative and say at the end of this lease (maybe before the lease up) I will have over 75000 miles on it and if and when they respond witb, “That is not a problem.”

Simply request, “Type it up and give it to me to have notarized.”

Next, file it with your paper work because unless you live  only 15 miles from work and you have one child, this is not the deal for you.

For example: You would drive 31200 miles in a four year time period, transporting yourself, to and from work, driving 30 miles a day, only 5 days a week. That provides you with approximately 16800 miles to ‘play with’ spread out over four years. Which leaves you with 4200 miles each year. Therefore, be careful how many sports events you allow your children to be in, don’t forget you need to purchase a rental car for those fast break get away weekends, but you couldn’t drive your car because it might add an extra 1000 miles to the mileage which will in turn create a great deal of turmoil later on. What? Did you guys read that last paragraph? That was crazy!! I still question why insurance companies allow this new insurance which is entitled Gap insurance.

The title Gap insurance, which I recently learned is required with a lease, should give us a clue as to how ridiculous, the leasing of an automobile, is for many consumers. But especially those who choose to live away from a metropolitan area.

Okay I am done discussing this. It turned out terrific. Yes, I owe to much on my car now, yes I still have too many miles on my car, but I have enjoyed every mile and will continue to drive. Open the sun roof, turn up the radio and let it fly! The only difference is now ‘Fancy’ is now mine and I have less limitations.

I am sorry if this was a bit on the negative side. I truly want this message to assist consumers. It is fine if you tool around town, for you to Lease an automobile, but if you live more than 15 miles from work or play, my advice to you is, buy your car!

Have a blessed day!!!

I must apologize to my family, friends and the transgender who I met in the doctor’s office…

Yesterday, was a great day!! You ask why I want to apologize? Oh keep reading! After you have finished laughing until you cry, then hopefully you will accept my apology.

The scene:  the sun is bright, heat index high, it is 9 A.M., and I am in my car with the sunroof open. Yes, it is one hot day in Kansas City, Ladies and Gentleman, but I am loving it. I didn’t realize my appointment was at 9:15 therefore, my hair is in a messy bun and I look like a kindergarten teacher with my free flowing Hawaiian dress on. Although I am a bit rushed, I feel terrific.

Then the song that just says everything I am feeling, at the moment, comes on the radio. My mind is freely thinking and planning for my upcoming ‘Be Happy’ seminars. I am contemplating the first song to have playing, extremely loud, when the audience enters this most amazing conference. Think Teena Think!!! What song would be fun, uplifting, sets the fun filled event to help people relax and let go? Oh my goodness…the beat just started thumping and I began dancing, yes in my car. Oh I almost forgot, the song was “Who let the dogs out.”

When the song came on,  I turned it up and began singing, dancing in my seat and waving my arms like I was the rapper/ singer myself. “Who Let the Dogs Out? Who? Who? Who?  Who Let the Dogs Out? Who? Who? Who?”

I sounded great, as far as I was concerned. I was engrossed in the song, feeling the beat, singing what words I knew, laughing dancing just having fun with me, myself, and I.

Why would I apologize? As much fun as I was having and was lost in ‘me,’  I shook my head up and down, then side to side, I was sitting at a red light, next to the gigantic Sprint Company Sign; when I glanced to my left there was a a driver starring at me. I didn’t think too much about it, but of course I had to look again. (Still rocking out like a crazy women) I glanced back to my left only to see someone videoing me, in my crazy, dancing, having hysterical fun state. I stopped for a split second, smiled real big and yelled have a great day. What??? Why do I care?

To be honest I didn’t until this morning! I realized, if someone posted that video my family and friends might be a bit upset with me. Therefore, I am taking the time to write and apologize. I realize my life has changed. Yes, I have always been happy, but my happy now is living life to the fullest. If the music moves me well so be it. If dancing like a crazy lady is what I feel at that moment, yep I am going to dance. Therefore, if the video is posted and you happen to see it, just mark it up for that’s my mommy, daughter, wife, friend, Mrs. Drake or Teena; you either love her or you don’t.

As for the beautiful transgender in the waiting room. I am sorry for not complimenting how beautiful you looked in pink. We had a great conversation about Ebay and I enjoyed our moment of conversation. However, I hesitated to say anything about your outfit why? Honestly, I didn’t want you to feel uncomfortable and I feared some of the people might have made you feel that away. Therefore, if you ever read this, you looked beautiful and you had my favorite color on. My message to you is live on, be free and love yourself! I apologize for not saying anything.

Feel good today! Take time to dance in the car, sing to the top of your lungs, dance in the rain and love one another. If someone is watching or videoing you let them, they may need the pick me up.

God Bless!

Livelove4ever!!!

I did it!!! I practiced what I preached!!!!

I know how you feel!!! When you curl up to read my blog, sometimes the emotions are overwhelming!! Because our innate nature is to be happy!! Therefore, when we are attempting to find those ‘feel good’ emotions, yet we are continuing to tell the same old stories; we stop the feel good vibrations. The spectacular events that are right there, outside of our bubble, don’t disappear, but rather they stay suspended outside of you, until you are ready to accept and receive.

Here is my example. Picture this: I do Physical therapy and mental, spiritual, and emotional healing/therapy EVERYDAY, in the pool. However, last week I found myself alone, in the pool at our apartment. Yes, I should have been ecstatic!!! However, I cried and cried. (You see I love myself, but I love to be with people a great deal too). Anyways, do not focus on the sad!

Living the life I lead today is amazing!!! Therefore, after last Thursday I decided to attend water aerobics at 930 this Thursday. I was so excited, I walked up and there were 5 women and two men over 65. Of course that didn’t bother me, but they were dying to know more!!! I could feel each of them watching me walk into the pool. One step then the next!! They all introduced themselves and ask questions. I felt extremely welcomed.

Ready? Here is the lesson or example…when they asked me about my life or why I was there, I said nothing about my leg. Ohhhh they wanted to know. (If they would have asked, I think I would have responded with, oh I was just privileged to have been given a second chance to live in a happy state, until my trip is over). I have no idea what I would have said, I can only tell you what happened.

I described how wonderful my children, family, friends, river farm and of course my amazing husband are. I continued by telling them how grateful I was to have met each of them and politely excused myself.

I could feel their eyes carefully watch as I crawled out of the swimming pool. I proudly walked off and smiled. As I approached the apartment, I began to laugh hysterically, to myself. I thought wow that was fun!!!

Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t easy, at first. However, it has to be done. You see, everyone receives a great deal of attention if they have a story to tell, that others can sympathize or empathize with. But in return you will receive more of that energy. Start telling your good feeling story. It’s not lieing, it’s just changing focus. Becuase everyone has a good story and a bad story.

Even the lowest you can get if you begin right now, wandering thru the place you are and saying I am grateful for and keep saying it over and over. If you are homeless even then, you can begin to change your life. Try it. Practice it! I am grateful for YOU! READING THIS MESSAGE!

How do you introduce yourself? Hello I am ______. They respond with oh what do you do? Instead of telling them where you work (which doesn’t define you) say I live life to be happy. Then ask would you like to come along this journey? If they choose yes then hurray if not oh well life is good anyways!

You are loved and worthy!

When you hear_____: Do you think______?

I remember studying psychology in my freshman year of college and being intrigued with the way the human mind thinks and functuons. I love its complexity yet simplicity almost appearing to be twins. Then I began to study fun topics like life, living, law of attraction and the brain, which I now know, has been one of my greatest competitors!

What? My brain is a competitor? Yes, when I began to practice happy thoughts and emotional attachments, I realized my brain was being a big bully! I know this seems a bit bizarre. However, keep following me and you too may need to do what Zig Ziglar says, “A check up from the neck up!”

Each time I would begin to look up, dream big, or advance, my brain would compare past incidents. For example: I would visualize about being a great motivational speaker, well known by all, as a ray of sunshine. (Similar to mother Teresa but much louder and out spoken.) Yet my brain would reflect and scramble for a memory to relate it to. Don’t get me wrong if I had a good memory of a business, that I was extremely successful at, then she would insert that feel good emotion or memory. However, because of my lack of positive background knowledge or past experiences that brought me wealth, my brain reflects on a negative experience. Why? To protect and serve me ( and you). In other words, if we are continuously trying to stay in a feel good vibration, enjoying life at its greatest lengths, then our brain will challenge any idea that might create us harm. Becoming our greatest competitors when changing our lives.

My messages have been loud and clear, lately. It is human nature to seek a happy, feel good vibration. Thrill seekers seek thrilling events, lovers seek out a partner to have fun with, drug users either seek out an escape, almost a thrill yet others use to fit in, because their brains do not function like everyone elses. No matter what; human nature is to live to be happy and have fun!!! Instead many of us are living against our feel good emotions; we are living against our life purpose. It’s time to evolve and find pure happiness.

How do you know what your life purpose is? I am not positive on the how, but I know that we are to live to be happy. We all choose the way we live. We choose our careers, activities, friends, our salary, and anything else related to our lives. Yes, we will experience difficult times, but we still choose how we react and how we feel.

If everytime you begin a conversation and the other person says something you connect with negatively. Try it again…and again until you find a feel good conversation. In other words your main objectives is to be happy and if your daily activities or conversations are not happy then change them. Yes all of them.

If everytime  you hear something you reflect on a negative connatation or situation or you pass judgement on someone because of how they were twenty five years ago, change it! This process may take a bit of effort. However, I promise it’s worth it!!! Life is meant to live, enjoy, laugh, and have fun. Feel the feel good emotion, feel your way to happiness. Will you have small moments of sadness? Yes, but once you have decided to live in a constant state of happiness, fun and joy, you will not ever want to continue in that state of yuk! Or aadness, negativity. You will quickly win over your competitor the brain and provide him/her with a new ‘feel good’ emotion!!

Why Grow Up?

Someone made the comment to me, “Teena will you ever grow up?”

I remember thinking, hmmmm no I do not plan on it. Truly, I have already been there and done that. I can remember teaching with my friends and me telling them, I love kids because they haven’t accepted all the judgements, concerns, and hypocrisy of adulthood, yet.

When I say I have already done that, I have. You see as parents we are forced to ‘grow up’ or as I entitle it, conforming to society’s demands. However, I always searched for a way to spice life up a bit, by creating a fun yet safe environment to just be free.

While discussing parenting with some friends we all agreed, we should call and thank our parents for keeping us alive becausee we were fearless at one time. No barriers or connection to fear.

I am not saying you should become frivolous and not care about anything. However, if you take time to create a list of your daily activities and it consist of work, eating, cooking, cleaning and sleeping, IT IS TIME!!! Time for you to grow down a bit. Begin searching for something fun to do once a week. After you begin this journey you will search for more and more. It will become your quest.

If you are a parent with children at home, my advice to you, is create a family fun time and an individual one as well. When my kids were little I would take a ‘Me’ day. (Probably Eric thinks I live in a me day, now lol). When we didn’t have money to go out, I created family fun days, For example: we had Wacky Wednesdays.

Wacky Wednesdays or Terrific Tuesdays, Freaky Fridays, it doesn’t matter about the day or title. I knew we had to eat anyways. Therefore, I would make it fun!! Sometimes it was our attire: we all had to wear a hat, a tie, our clothes inside out, or maybe even pajamas. I would light candles, play music, allow the kids to help cook and set the ambiance. There were very few limitations (safety first). Sometimes it was a disaster, but I continually remember even the disasters were beautiful.

We did everything from desert first, colored our food, and/or special music by the Drake kids. One of my favorite memories is – the evening we had saved to purchase some nice steaks, ice cream and toppings for the ice cream. We began with allowing the kids to create a ‘snow ball’ out of ice cream and roll them in the toppings, of their choice. They ate them first because life is too short to not eat dessert first!!!

The next portion of the evening was our delicious steaks! However, (remember I only chose to grow up for those parenting moments necessary to assist my kids to stay alive and be accepted) I thought it would be fun to food color all of our food. Therefore, I colored the mashed potatoes blue and for some reason I colored the meat with GREEN. As the evening was wrapping up we were all sitting at the table, in the dark, with at least five candles. It was beautiful. Music playing in the background all the kids were excited and then…Darion needed some ketchup. I flipped on the light, Eric had eaten half of his steak and when I shined some light on his plate, he looked at his steak and immediatly yelled!!!! “Kids don’t eat the steak!!!! It is bad meat!! Teena throw this meat away.”

I turned and looked at my wonderful husband with a puzzled look. “What are you talking about?”

At that point I realized what was happening and I began to laugh hysterically. The kids were sitting paralyzed, appearing to be in a trance, as well as holding their breath. They all three fixed their eyes on daddy to see if he was mad. Therefore, a ten second period of silence felt like an eternity. Next we all begin to let out a little giggle and one by one each of us began laughing until our cheeks hurt.

Regardless of anything negative happening the end result was all we needed. To laugh, giggle, and let go.

It’s time for you to choose to enjoy!!! If you have five wonderful events fall into place which creates happiness for you, yet one not so happy slips into your realm, similar to our meat incident; focus on the other five! If you can laugh at your one negative situation and quickly switch it around, then do that. No matter what take time be grateful for the good moments and guess what? More and more good moments will occur.

There is a time and a place for everything!! I agree growing up isn’t so bad! As long as you promise to return to the bliss, honesty, and freedom of being a child occasionally, you will have a great life and happiness will fill your soul.

God loves you no matter what!!!!

Remember to be happy even if it requires returning to a time when your life was much more simplictic.
