What on Earth, is Happy Coaching?

This question comes up, almost daily. I guess the easiest way to explain it is to tell you what it is not! It is not the ‘normal’ coaching, as you would expect from a life or business coach. It does not fall under the genre of health. It is not time consuming and requires little to no effort on your part. What is it?

Happy Coaching is a simple, beneficial, time manageable, interesting and extremely different way to help YOU ‘Be Happy.’ Not my style or my perception of being happy. But rather your own. The entire program is NOT based on a single model, that you need to squeeze into it, similar to a pair of jeans you bought twenty years ago and need to give to Goodwill.

Why do I describe it as simple? Because it is. It is based on you, your goals, desires and outcomes. The best part is, you decide what you want or feel you need to ‘be more happy’ about. For example: You may have plenty of income, but, dag on, your relationships are crappy. Happy Coaching will help you with that. Or maybe you are a parent and you feel your middle school child is needing a little outside help, but you don’t think they need a counselor, psychologist or another type of more serious consultation. Happy Coaching can and will help you. Or maybe it is about MONEY, Can this coaching system help you with this? Yes.

Originally, no one under 18 would be allowed to receive this service. However, Livelove’s team decided that was silly. You might ask why we would or would not accept teenagers? It seemed to be too much liability. Guess what? That is ridiculous. This program does not delve into the icky past nor is it to replace a counselor, who is dealing with much more serious issues. Therefore, a new plan has been created. Since this is message based, all messages will be recorded, printed and filed. As well as the legal guardian will receive duplicates of everything sent! So… Yayayayaya we are now offering Happy Coaching to teenagers as well!

Please understand, I could hire a big marketing company to explain, how you are receiving a deal because it’s not two hundred and ninety nine dollars, but for today only it is one ninety-nine. But I truly don’t want to ever have to do all of that. I know there is a time a place for all of that. And I have studied simple sells techniques for years. I do realize it is an actual craft to market and sell a product. I just don’t want Livelove to be known as that. This company was built on Living life with as much love as you possibly can have! Not buy this, or your life will be incomplete! Nope, I don’t like those marketing strategies, for me.

Therefore, plain and simple…Happy Coaching has a low cost. It is simple and fun. It is also based upon, yes you guessed it, YOUR Needs and how much you can pay. You think I will stay in business long? You bet I will because I am following my heart, are you?

I will be posting five free messages Monday thru Friday Jan. 8th – 12th. It will be sample messages, I have already sent or there just might be some new ones for my readers :)! So stay tuned until next week to see if Happy Coaching is something for you in 2018!

Merry Christmas…

I recently wrote an article entitled, A Simple Message, about the one common strand ‘meaning’ of the holiday season. Which I have found that common strand is LOVE! Whether you celebrate Christmas or not.

Which continues to be the true meaning of the season, for me. However, the story of Christmas is one of the sweetest and most miraculous stories of all.

As I anxiously, await for my children to come barreling in my room and wake me up, I close my eyes and attempt to imagine the birthday of baby Jesus. (Yes, I know my children are all adults, but my babies they will forever be!)

Just think doing your regular duties and a big bright star shines super bright. Angels appear throughout the night, gifts were brought and a beautiful baby boy is born. His story has been told in many languages and is celebrated in a multitude of places.

The season is about love, but Christmas to me will always be about thanking God for sending this world a baby, baby Jesus. His message has always been strong, his story illuminates love, peace and strength.

Let me ask you something? Do you think they were always strong? Do you believe that Mary and Joseph knew HOW they were going to make it? No, the answer is no! They had no idea how they were going to do this. Nor where. They endured a great deal and yet they survived and went on to leave a Legacy.

As you celebrate Christmas…think about the sweet story of the birth of Jesus and the Love he brought to this world. However, also think of the entire story and how much and how many people were affected.

I don’t believe is was all lollipops and rainbows for the shepherds, Inn Keeper, Wise Men or Mary and Joseph. They were in a rough environment and in today’s society the family would be considered less fortunate. However, they had all they needed! A sweet baby boy who would change the world forever!

If you are in a bad spot or down and out this Christmas. Please pause, then try to remember a happy time in your past. Maybe an old tradition or just get out your Bible and read the sweetest story ever. I don’t know how, but I do know what! Merry Christmas my friend, you are loved, no matter what!

God Loves you

Jesus does too!

Happy Birthday Sweet Baby Jesus, we will try to exemplify your meaning and Love, Love, Love one another!

Email me if you would like to start the year off with, two free weeks of Happy Coaching.

Let’s do this!

Ever wake up with a sense of determination for whatever reason? Like you dream about something and it impresses you, so much, you want to ensure to remember, every little detail? That was my dreams last night! Last few postings I have discussed some ‘new’ techniques, I had learned from Louise Hayes. You lay down, speak outloud, what you are grateful for. Also, before you jump out of bed, inhale, exhale, and count your blessings one by one. And don’t forget the best most delicious of all…plan your day, but keep it light, to ensure you ALLOW the happy, little stops, throughout the journey.

I think I have now said, “I love, accept and appreciate myself over a thousand times, since I began, last Monday.

Pssst…I will tell you a little secret, it has been simply amazing!!!!! Has every little adventure been perfectly planned? No! Have I been smiling like a cat ate the canary every moment, actually, Yes I probably have.

You might ask how? How has it been simply amazing? I have observed a change in my trajectory of the way I visualize, the way I speak about me, the way I handle others conversation and most importantly, I am continually presented with more and more terrific opportunities.

No, Jimmy Fallon’s producer hasn’t called, YET!! However, the other special events, have been simply precious and awesome.

(I must go off on a rambling session for one minute, just read along, it will make you laugh and laugh).

The Jimmy Fallon discussion has turned into a funny story. The other day I was being a little more daring with my writings and tweets. You can call it a little frisky. I tweeted that Donald Trump should let me interview him AND I was ready to have the Jimmy Fallon show call me, to be a guest. If nothing else to introduce, ME. lol

Yes, I have a published book, a business (that is kind of sitting out on the Web like a pet rock, for now, holidays )

Yes, I have a wonderful message for the world. But I do realize, I have to do some more leg work before the big Cahooga!!! Jimmy Fallon.

However… (here is the funniest part of my day) I tweeted a few tweets, wrote about him and then about two hours later, I was writing, and my phone rang. (No big deal, right?) I looked at my phone and it said New York City!!!!

I heard that commercial, “NEW YORK CITY?”

I was like oh my, my little old tweets to my over 300 followers lol, must have traveled fast!!! Hahahaha, if you are not laughing yet, it’s time to begin!!! 300 followers, that’s comical in itself, can’t wait until it is 10,000. Why? I really don’t know why, just because.

Yes, I starred at the number at least through five rings. I planned what I was going to say, how and oh don’t forget to ask questions, Teena. Don’t scream in the phone! This isn’t the publishers Clearing House, even though to me it felt like it!!!! I guess you know after five rings the phone usually switches to a voice mail. It did!

No message. Hmmmm, they are probably going to call back, due to, they are so busy and all. I seriously spent the next hour writing down responses, practicing in the mirror, I even returned to 13 year old, Teena, and pretended I was speaking with Johnny on his show. Minus the colored cigarettes. Yes, as a child I would catch a glimpse of ‘Johnny’, while at a friend’s house and then come home, curl up in front of the vanity in my bathroom and light a colored cig, which had a gold tip. I would smoke it and blow out the smoke so elegantly and pretend I was responding to Johnny. (I know I was too young, but I was dedicated to playing the role). This is one reason, I feel so strongly about what we as entertainers do, I was one of those kids 😉.

Anywhoo, back to the phone call! I went about my day, checking the phone, practicing my words carefully and then a New York number called again. This time I was on it!!!! I picked that phone up, pressed the button, Hello…long pause on the other end.

Ohhh I am so excited, I knew it, in my head I am scrambling for a good date for me, to be a guest. Actually, if they would have asked, “Can you be here, tonight?” I would have been on a plane in an hour, lmao!

But we all know that wouldn’t happen, just a funny thought. (You probably already know what happen next, but I will complete the story).

Finally, after the long pause, I hear a loud room full of operators and the sweet lady says,”Can you hear me?”(in her sweet attempt to speak fluent English she couldn’t ask the question well enough to receive what she needed) Yes, she was attempting to get me to say, “Yes.” So she can record it and try to use it for identity theft or whatever, I don’t know what reason!!!.

However, instead of saying, “Yes.” I said, “What? Hello are you with the Jimmy Fallon Show?”

She repeated the question, “Hello, can you hear me?” I didn’t say yes, (I had figured this out, but it was good practice, for when the producers do call), I proceeded to say, “No, but it’s okay can you hear me? ”

She stammered around trying to find a cue card, how to confuse me or divert my crazy talk! However, that didn’t stop me!!! “Ohhh you really are from the show!!! What? You would like for me to be a guest on the Jimmy Fallon show? What day is best for me? Hmmm I love Mondays.”

The entire time this lady is attempting to be persistant!!! However, I can hear her voice becoming irritated. “Mam! No, CAN YOU HEAR ME?”

Now let’s freeze this for one second! Obviously, lady I can hear you. No, I am not going to say yes. Why wouldn’t you give up! She finally became super frustrated with me and hung up, abruptly I might add.

Well!! I guess that was a good practice run. You know, I don’t feel bad. And to be honest I have laughed and laughed about the event.

Okay, I hope you had a good laugh, as well. Take time, today, to pause and be grateful.

Then everytime you think of it say, “I love and accept myself” or “I love and appreciate myself.” It is simple.

However, the impact on your life is POWERFUL!

No, just from beginning this process, I may not have received ‘that call.’ However, it is on its way and when it arrives, with all my practice, I will be READY! Life is meant to be enjoyed. You are wonderful, don’t forget that!

Livelove & Carryon

Ohhh PS. I have finally created or been divinely given a new writing and recording name: Momma Teena! I will write about it later on!

Thanksgiving Morning on the Farm

Of course I woke up at 4:30 in the morning, on the farm. However, this time I do not have to roll out of bed and start the Turkey. So I rolled over, tossed and turned for over an hour, finally slipped out of bed.

The sun was peeking up over the hill creating a sparkly blanket of frost across the land. As almost if old man Frost wanted to freeze time, even if for just a moment, to allow those of us up, to observe in amazement, his works.

Normally, when ‘back on the farm’ I am rushing around, barking orders, freaked out because something needs to be done, but this year I am not. Instead, I am enjoying the dancing moments where past meets the present and future is so boldly introducing herself! (In a good way).

I relish in the memories of laughters, tears, excitement and all other emotions attached to every crack, bump, or splashed syrup on the ceiling stains, still not fixed from previous years. As I reflect back I remember all the funny events of Thanksgivings. Once we moved to the river Eric knew when Baw Baw couldn’t, I would!

We have had family gatherings from Thanksgiving, Christmas, all the way to hey, its finally Spring, let’s have a get together. I remember one year, I counted 50 people and other than my farm family, there were maybe three other relatives, the rest were our adopted family members. (Which we tried counting the other day, how many of those we have. It made us laugh and get all sentimental because the number was too difficult to solidify. We would become so wrapped up in naming someone and then attaching a fun or funny story, that the list continues to grow).

Sorry, Eric tells me all the time I get off on tagents, that was one of them.

Today, Thanksgiving Day 2017 is a bit different. The kids were all busy, Eric & I just arrived and have been in paradise for so long we struggled with returning to 21 degrees. So I am so excited that I get to go celebrate with one of my favorite little girls!!! My niece Lucy!

Although change isn’t always easy, it is inevitable. As for me I choose to embrace the changes, make the most of the new opportunities, revel over the past, enjoy the now…this moment.

Maybe you are like me and you are sitting on your front porch, wrapped up in something similar to a cacoon, listening to the Crows call, and you want to be sad for a moment due to the ‘change’ in traditions. However, I ask you to tilt your head from one side and then the other, close your eyes…hold them shut for one extra moment. Now open them and wait for your eyes to refocus. What do you see? A different perspective.

Don’t worry about ‘creating’ a new Tradition, that can sometimes create more anxiety than good, but rather enjoy right now! Whether you are with one person or several, maybe you are alone, it doesn’t matter search to feel good, this moment, feel terrific. Then expect another terrific moment and another and before you can blink your eyes, this day will be another memory! Hopefully even better than you expected.

If someone forgets to tell you today: ” YOU! Are AWESOME, WORTHY, LOVABLE and AMAZING!

Grateful for you!!!

Ghost of Thanksgiving Past…

I can smell the bacon sizzling, eggs a cracking, batters being whipped and beaten. Come about four o’clock in the morning, Thanksgiving morning. I would slip down the stairs as quietly as the old crickety floor would let me and slowly, ever so slowly, open the door at the bottom of the steps. Sliding my small little girl body through a sliver of an opening, to ensure I did not awaken my mom and dad, who were on the hide-a-way sofa in the, soon to be magical dining room.

As my bare feet touched the cold floor, I would cringe, drawing it back in hopes I would not groan so loudly, to wake everyone up. As I approached the opening to the doorway of the kitchen, I could hear her clanking the pans (as quietly as she could) and almost methodically dancing, in her house robe like a glowing angelic human. If I didn’t disturb her and freeze like a statue, I could hear her lightly singing a sweet hymn. Usually something like, Thank you Lord, for saving my soul or I will walk with Him and I will talk with him….

I try to hold my breath for as long as possible, so I can hear and watch her for just one more minute, only to slip on a rug, lose my balance and come sliding in the kitchen, butt first. She basically, keeps going and says, “Teena Gay, what are you doing up it is too early and you will be cranky before Thanksgiving dinner is served!”

As I began to whine and explain how excited I was and I rambled on, she seem to forget what she had said and would start talking to herself. Almost as if a check list was in her head and not even I could get her off track (Which if you know me I can get anyone off track, most of the time).

Mmmmmmmmm, can you smell it? I can! I can smell the green beans a bubbling, the turkey browning, the sweet pies a cooling. One by one a family member would emerge. Poppy would slip down the steps, wrap his arms around Baw Baw, giving her a reverse hug and a sweet peck on the cheek. She would always stop, pause and embrace his hugs and his kisses.

You know as I sit and write this I can’t help, but pause, close my eyes and as the tears stream down my face, I give thanks! I am grateful for these precious memories.

I remember thinking my grandmother was super woman! You know, I might be wrong, but until my Poppy passed away I think she cooked the majority of the food. I know we all pitched in something throughout the years, but honestly that was Violet Ashby’s legacy! Not just Thanksgiving Dinners, but bringing people together, by opening her home and preparing the most delicious, blessed and cooked with love meal anyone could ever imagine.

The time would quickly come, when those who weren’t in town, would begin to arrive. Oh the smiles on everyone’s face. The big hugs that seem to be never ending as the back screen door would open and SLAM, directly behind anyone who entered. Greetings, greetings!!!! It was like a house full of laughter and the energy was so strong it seemed as though, our farm home was coming to life celebrating hundreds of years of family, would vibrate and glow.

Finally, it was time to eat. Now most of the time as we all gathered around the ‘big people’s’ table or the ‘kids’ table off to the side (I don’t think I sat at the big people’s table until after I was an adult of like 25! Lolololol), the room would be so loud, Forman Hamilton who was the neighbor down the road, could hear us. However, once my Poppy, Uncle Bob, or Uncle Rod said, “Let’s bless this food…”

We all stopped talking and immediately grabbed hands and bowed our heads. It was like a snap of the fingers when it happened! Next, BRING ON THE FOOD!!! Heavenly Ham, terrific turkey, goodness gracious gravy, pluffy potatoes, stupendous slaw & stuffing and Pie, pie, pie! Did I forget to mention Butterscotch PIE!

We would all pass the food around the table: macaroni and cheese oh my!

As Thanksgiving approaches, enjoy each person you are with. Take time to put your phones down and turn off your technology for just a moment and record those smells, laughters, moment by moment sounds and events in your memory bank. Because you can never relive this time again. Next year will be different. It may not seem much different, but it will be. Everyone will be a year older, have new perspectives, some will pass others will be born, no matter what the only way you can relive a memory, is create one!

Thank you for reading, sending you much love!

(Don’t forget to check out December 8th, our upcoming event/celebration is going to be fun!)

21? No way!

Yes, it is true I have a baby girl who turns 21 today. I remember the day quite well. By early in the morning on the 17th we decided she wasn’t coming therefore, why bother returning to the hospital, lol.

I had been admitted on the 16th and when nothing happened, I came home to see my four year old, Darion. Only to return the next morning for more poking and prodding. She was determined to stay, nesting in the womb enjoying mommy singing and walking her around.

It was an amazing day! We were calm upon entering the labor and delivery, had created a plan for Darion to come to the hospital and went in to finally hold this bundle of joy.

I can remember when they held this beautiful child up and said, “Meet your baby girl, Ashby Mae Drake.”

Tears streamed down my face. Of course I was elated, but I was also like that three month old, came out of me? You see, my first child was five pounds ten ounces. However, Ashby broke that record of having teeny tiny babies…she was nine pounds five ounces! Shew!!! She was mad! It was cold and she couldn’t get those screams to form words fast enough, therefore she screamed louder and sometimes in different pitches almost like she was auditioning for the voice, as a two minute old!

Everyone in the labor and delivery were scattered and shattered once Ashby had arrived. I realize that it’s normal for a delivery staff to be chaotic, but it’s how extreme the chaos was. I remember one nurse, who was tending to me, turned and as politely as she could said, “Okay, who is in charge of making sure Miss Ashby is happy!”

Really? Her first few minutes of life and she begins with that? And guess what? They did just that. People were scrambling, passing her from person to person, swaddling her to keep her warm and finally between me, Darion and Meemaw some how she became satisfied.

It was like a snap of the fingers and we are spinning around and she is 21!

The essence of Ashby…she has always loved all animals from snakes & reptiles to kittens & rats and everything in between. There was not an animal she couldn’t tame with a flick of her wrist and pick it up. Spanky the iguana, no one handled except Ashby Mae. She has been a visual artist since I can remember. By the time she was able to hold a pen in her hand, she has been drawing, way before she was walking. Her favorite way to paint from a year old on was in her birthday suit.

One time Eric had unannounced work clients come in from out of town, he called and said, “Some friends are coming over after work can you ask Ashby to dress?”

Her free spirit will take you on a whirlwind, similar to a plethora of Fall leaves being scooped up and dancing along the waves of the breeze. Then other times her vast interest in making the world a better place, but also ensuring all is fair in the world of Ashby, she will be more like a gust of wind.

Her essence of believing you can do anything is magnificent. Her determination to succeed is phenomenal. I remember when she was 15 she told me SHE would be in California by the time she was a Jr. In highschool. Of course, silly me doubted her! Boy was I wrong.

She began that day looking for reputable agents, (not the horrific experience we had at Cosmo, don’t do that). She found Wings in Cincinnati and the whirlwind had just begun. With in months we were attending workshops, meeting with several agents and finally she had decided on Jake Lang, who told her, “I am not sure you can do this.” ( I now know he knew exactly what he was doing).

Next thing I know, we are booking flights to Texas for expo, making new friends and signing on! For what? Oh sorry, of course Ashby was signed and expected to be where? By when? Yes!! California by February.

Those are just a few examples of the essence of Ashby Mae Drake. She has bedazzled us all since the afternoon of October 17th, twenty one years ago.

Thank you for being a great daughter and I love you! You are beautiful. Looking forward to many more!

God Bless
