Zit, Pimple, Blemish…they all have the same meaning

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and all you can think about is this horrific-pain, piercing, one, tiny, spot, on your face! Yes, a zit is making its ‘Grand’ entrance at that very moment!

This conversation was interesting, but in your mind you are screaming, “Don’t ask me a question! Because I have no idea what you are saying. Oh no, I AM INTERESTED! However, this OUCH! PAINFUL, ZIT is attempting to take over my thought process. Please! I beg of you to understand!”

The entire time your friend is chit chatting and all you can see is her lips moving. But your hearing is basically gone. Your feelings are numb and your focus is most definetly on this OBTRUSIVE, probably now extremely visible, puss filling, pocket we call a zit, pimple, or even a blemish, but we all know they are the same!

If a Zit could talk it would sound like this,

“I’m a zit! No, rhyme or reason. No, plan or proper timing. No, specifics nor limitations…I am a ZIT!

I will appear at the most impromptu times. Unannounced yet definetly created…by who? Why YOU? Of course! I am a Zit, I have no thoughts or understanding.

When you rub a simple flake of dirt, across your largest organ. I snatch it up, attempt to ‘do’ my job & next my formation begins.

I realize my ‘why’ may seem trivial to you. I know that I APPEAR, at the seemingly worst times. But hey, I am using my talent, how about you?

I am a ZIT! A PIMPLE! A BLEMISH! I protect & serve your skin.

I know I am obtrusive, obnoxious and you wish I were Obsolete!

However, I will stay the same. Why? Because I am a Zit!

We don’t like you!! One Flamingo said to the other…

Freddy the Pink Flamingo was hanging out with his friends. They played games, cooked out, and laughed, all day long.

As Freddy was retrieving the hoola hoop from ring the neck of a Flamingo, he saw a gigantic moving truck pull in.

He ran back to his friends with great excitement screeching, “A new Flamingo is moving in! Hey! Hey! I just saw a moving truck and a new Flamingo is moving in!”

Frank, Fillip, Frances, and some of the other Flamingos gathered around Freddy to hear what he was so excited about! “Aren’t you all excited? I wonder if they like to cook out, play games…” Freddy questioned.

“Of course they will like everything we like, they are Pink Flamingos!” Frank commented, acting as if Freddy was silly for being so excited. “Come on let’s finish this game I am winning!” he continued.

But Freddy was too excited to meet his new neighbors!

He peeked through the small hole of the joining privacy fence, which was created by his best friend Flipper, before he moved out of town.

His right eye ball made a complete circle as he scanned the backyard. But not one sign of a new Flamingo, yet.

Until…as he began to turn around and sadly report I can’t see anyth…he was abruptly interupted by a gigantic gasp from his friends. He looked puzzled as to why they were all starring at him with a horrible look plastered on their beaks!

Freddy froze and felt like he was turning white.

Before he could sputter any words from his beak…he felt a shadow towering over him. He quickly rolled his eyes up, up, up and over his head.

“Aaaaaaaaaaa,” he began to scream and scream.

The different colored, too tall, odd shaped thingy, simply pulled her head back and slowly walked into the back door of her new home.

“What was that?” He asked.

Freddy’s friends surrounded him and everyone began to talk at once. In a chaotic Flamingo chatter.

Until…they heard a light tap, tap, tap on the gate of Freddy’s back yard.

All of the Pink Flamingos held their breath and became silent. As if the tap, tap, tap on the other side of the gate would ‘think’ no one was home.

Tap, tap, tap once again.

Finally, Freddy slowly unlocked the gate, peeked through the tiny crack and…

What did he find?

A neon green, beautiful, bright Flamingo just his size.

“Hello, I am Franky. May I come over to play, while my mommies unpack.”

Freddy was so excited that she was not the tall blue looking bird, he encountered on the other side of the fence that he replied with, “Of course come in and meet all my friends!”

Franky timidly walked through the gate, looked around, smiled and quietly introduced herself, “Hello, I am Freddy’s new neighbor, Franky.”

As Freddy danced back and forth, he grabbed a hot dog off the table and created a delicious plate of food for his new friend, he saw something happen, that was not too pleasing. 😔😢😢😔

Many of his friends were now in a group snickering and being quite rude to Franky.

Frank looked at Franky in a disgusting manner and asked,”Why is your skin Green? Yuk! And why is your name Franky if you are a GIRL?”😬😬😲😲

Several others chimed in as if they were in agreement with Frank. They all starred at poor little Franky anticipating her answer, as if she could come up with a decent answer, as to why she looks different.👽

But before Franky could answer the big, blue, thingy…peeking over the fence from earlier, yelled out, “Franky, Franky where are you?”

Franky with a sigh dropped her head and vanished behind the gate as fast as she had entered.

Freddy was mad! He ruffled his feathers and stomped his flimsy legs over to his other Pink Flamingo friends. “Why? Why were you mean to our new friend?”😠

Everyone acted like he was silly. Fillip stepped up and explained to Freddy. “We don’t like Franky.”

“Why?”

“Because, she is green!!!! And a girl.”

All of Freddy’s friends agreed this new neighbor, was not their friend.

Their squawks, filled with complaints, were quickly drowned out by music echoing from Franky’s yard.

All the boys rushed over to the peep hole in the privacy fence. Pink feathers were flying as they pushed and shoved to attempt to see where the music was coming from.

The big, blue, Flamingo who towered over the six foot privacy fence, hung her head over to calmly ask,”Would you like to come over?”

With their beaks pointing up really high, towards the sky, they shook their heads in perfect unison, Yes!

With their feathers ruffled as if they were taking flight, the boys took off running towards Franky’s back yard.

Freddy decided not to go because he was so mad at how rude his friends were. 😠😳

When the boys entered the gate their eyes almost popped out of their heads! Toys, a sand box, outside games, a swing set and at least ten other Flamingos. All GIRLS! And All different colors!💖💚💙💜💛

At first Ralph, Freddy’s best friend felt sad that Freddy didn’t come and began to turn around to beg him to join them.

Until, he spotted Franky slipping out the gate to go ask Freddy. Before she disappeared she paused, turned around and winked at Ralph. He smiled real big and went off to play in the sand box with Mabel the purple Flamingo.😉

To be continued…

What do you think Freddy said to Franky? Do you think he joined them or did he tell Franky all about how terrible his friends were?

What would you do? Have you ever judged someone by their outside appearance? I am sure we all have.

Sundays are fundays?

I have chosen Sundays as my fundays. They have been for fifty two weeks, ever since the beginning of my new, enlightened, fantastic, super, journey began! This is probably going to be a little bit sappy, today, because Sundays are my grateful days.

Therefore, if I ramble a bit, I will let you know when to skip over to the ‘message’ for you to have, keep and do with what you choose.

Every Sunday, that I have stuck to my goal, I have learned so much! From how to have even more fun in living to new ways to feel the terrific and delicious emotions, of all aspects of this life.

(Rambling skip this paragraph if you would like)

If I were to describe my newest feelings, emotions and knowledge, it would be something like this: Imagine…standing at the top of a mountain, at the very tip top, looking down over a valley filled with lush greenery, laughter, movement and the clouds along with the sheets of blue to offer a back drop that creates a peaceful, yet exhilarating breeze, flowing directly towards you. To accept the gentle breeze, directly before it reaches your body, you open your arms and fully accept the cool breeze to overtake your entire body!

In life, we have such a unique opportunity! We can actually feel, our way to bliss, joy and peace.

(Back on task)

As I began to read #The Essential LOUIS HAY Collection, I questioned what I said to myself before, I rolled out of bed? And how many mixed signals I had already sent to my subconscious by noon. Of course I had said my affirmations. I had prayed. I had said a little pep talk to myself. Kissed Eric…Okay all is great! Right? Not exactly.

What? Teena! What is wrong? My mind races to my past, looks for a connection. Nope, been letting alot of that go, so I thought it might have been there, but noooo. It’s not what’s wrong. When I was a little girl, my Baw Baw would whisper, “Sometimes you get a hunch or a gut feeling? You know what I mean?”

Well I now allow those strange feelings or emotion of ‘something’ not being quite right and learn from them. Don’t dismay the fact that we were all born with an intuition which is the same as those weird feelings, my wonderful grandma always talked about. However, today my off feelings were because of me. Me and my chatter to myself.

You see, as I carefully read the words of Louise Hays,

Hmmmm…yes, I think I began my day off okay. I began with grateful, sent great love to all I know, I cooked breakfast…ohhh I think I got it!

So she means, what I say to me, about me, that matters?

You see as I jump off the high dive and plunge directly into the deep waters of entrepreneurship, I have found an entirely new set of deep- hidden insecurities!!! I have literally been doing exactly what my first book was entitled,”Stop Beating Up Your Best Friend! I was beating myself up, minute by minute.”

If you could physically see what I have been doing to me, shew it would be U G L Y! A broken leg would be nothing to the abuse I have been giving to myself. In one writing, Louise questions”What do you say to yourself about yourself?”

I began to collect, by journaling, all the ugly, mean, degrading things I said about myself. I couldn’t stand to go back any further than yesterday! It was too painful!!!!

If you knew me, well you would probably be shocked to hear this! However, it’s true and I am so grateful to have gained this knowledge. You will be relieved to know, I forgave myself. I am dedicating each moment to utilizing the Hawaiian: Ho oponopono prayer. (Please check my spelling on this).

As the day evolved, it was terrific! I continuously repeated I approve of myself, I love myself and I accept myself. Over and over! Said it, sang it, chanted it too. Still, not much change. It almost felt as though my mind was waiting for me to say it again, so it would have a quick response to shut my kind words down.

After a beautiful bike ride and time spent with my husband, I continued the process, in my head, “I approve of myself, I approve of me, myself and I.

By 6 o’clock in the morning, I had probably repeated this 100 times or more since, I took the challenge. I said it over and over, “I love you and I accept/approve of me (talking to myself).”

But I found that this is no different than forming a new habit! Not that it is hard labor, but to change what you say about you, to you and others…now this is tedious.

While fulfilling my Toastmasters role for the morning, I thought before I spoke, I attempted to stay calm and on task. Now almost chanting in my head were multiple ways to say, I APPROVE OF ME, I approve of what I said, whispering, singing, I felt like Dory, instead it was just keep approving, just keep approving.

Has it helped? I think that question needs to be on hold, until a little more research has been completed. However, I do know one thing, I am much more aware of what I was doing to myself than ever before.

I feel super grateful for this amazing journey. Everytime, I write I become more and more invested into Livelove’s mission and/or vison.

Don’t forget we will be presenting a few of our ‘how to’ BE Happy techniques, as well as, share with you, some new and exciting news about the company. Dec. 8th, 7 o’clock, Madison Indiana.
