Frankie & Freddy Decide to Let it go? Not quite…

To be Continued:

Last we heard from Freddy he was continuing to mope around. He wouldn’t talk to anyone and when Frankie attempted to explain, he rejected her attempts…multiple times!

What else can Frankie do besides move on? Many of Freddy’s friend group had tried to talk to both of them and assist in this terrible misunderstanding.

Would these two, BEST FRIENDS, ever be friends, once again?

Two weeks, had passed and for two more weeks, Freddy was not on the ‘family’ bus, laughing and giggling, with all the beautiful, multi-colored Flamingos and his favorite one…Frankie!

His mommy was extremely concerned about her son. She attempted to discuss the situation with Freddy, but he would always reply with, “Mommy, you wouldn’t understand!”

The Ekard home atmosphere was very gloomy. When Mr. Ekard, Freddy’s daddy, arrived, after his business trip, he had a long discussion with Freddy.

He explained how his mom and himself were concerned about Feddy’s behavior.

His daddy continued to teach Freddy a ‘life lesson’ about mistakes, perspectives, forgiveness, and the value of A Good FRIENDSHIP!

Freddy was overwhelmed with joy and ambitiously ready to FORGIVE. He begged his daddy to drive him to the movie theater to find Frankie.

He could barely sit in his seat while Freddy’s dad drove 55 mph. “Couldn’t you break the law a little bit, I want to get there before she leaves?”

Mr. Ekard doesn’t hurry for anyone! Freddy knew that. But one strong belief he did have was ABIDING by the law. And if you questioned his integrity…ohhhh he had a way to make you feel guilty!

He continues to stare at the road, in silence, hands on the wheel and he squawks before he speaks, “Son (clears his throat) Son, I have always told you Freedom is a choice. I choose to never have a guilty conscious.”

“If I rushed over to the movies to allow you to do something terrific, but…I hit a little puppy or something worse, would I continue to be upholding my end of the deal to take you to the theater safely?”

Freddy sank down in his chair, allowing the seatbelts to slip up…to demonstrate his feelings of rebellion. Quietly he replied with,”I know and no, I wouldn’t want your integrity to ever be questioned.” Rolling his eyes to redirect his focus to the outside.

FINALLY, THEY HAD ARRIVED! Freddy was so excited he tried jumping out with his seatbelt on. His father helped pushed the button to release the latch…out tumbled Freddy. As he recovered himself and checked for any injuries, he looked up and his dad was attempting to hold a contagious laugh..when their eyes met, his dad immediately burst into laughter.

Spewing a mouthful of Cola all over Freddy!

They both froze for a split second…then burst into laughter.

Freddy almost forgot what he was doing they laughed so much! After quite some time they regained their composure. Freddy turned around and fast paced walked into the movie theater.

He asked Larry the ticket sales guy which movie they were watching. It is not difficult to remember ten diverse flamingos and their two beautiful mommies. Who shine so bright they always take a blanket to the movies to cover their brightness, lol.

Larry pointed Freddy in the correct direction and the hunt was on. He weaved in and out of the rows.

Until he heard a precious voice, “Freddy? Freddy is that you?”

He turned around, grinned from ear to ear, and said, “No, its Ralph! Of course, it is me. Is that you Frankie?”

“Yes, come here…he saw a slight glimpse of his best friends beautiful green shimmering feathers waving in the camera’s light.

He made his way back to her and she had a seat saved for him. She had a RIGHT SIDED seat…which is important to remember, because Freddy is predominantly left winged. Which means if you want him to share his popcorn with you, he must be on your right side! Only Frankie knew these little quirks about Freddy.

He snuggled his behind into the cushiony seat, looked over at Frankie smiled real big and said, “I am sorry for being a jerk and I love you. Please do not ever go that long again without being my friend. I was miserable!”

Frankie leaned in and whispered, “I was always your friend, you chose not to be mine.”

The two overlapped wings, in the popcorn bowl and contently starred at the wide movie screen.

You might think that is the Happy Ending and all is well in the neighborhood, but let’s take a gander back to the aftermath of Freddy’s request.

He asked for this dispute to be over. For his friend to never ‘leave’ him again. He also apologized for something he is unsure of because he wanted it to be complete.

Let’s see what happens next and pay attention to how your feelings might change, throughout the story.

As the two newly, reunited, Best Friends walked out… it sounded like squawking to everyone around them. First one would say, “I have so much to tell you.”

Then the other would interrupt to ask,”Did you see the new episode?” (As they caught up on their daily conversations about school, television, and life).

All of the sisters climbed on the bus, Frankie hugged Freddy goodbye and as Freddy opened his eyes to end the long desired hug…he saw Ralph sneaking on the bus.

Freddy pulled away from Frankie, jerked his head to the side (snapping his neck a bit and it hurt), and screetched in a questioning tone, “RALPH?”

“Why are you getting on the bus? Since when did you receive a seat on the Fabulous Flamingo Family Bus?” Freddy continued to spout out questions, to Ralph, himself, Frankie and Mabel, who was attempting to pull Ralph on the bus…who was now FROZEN on the second step wondering if he should be fearful, mad, sad, embarrassed or confused.

Freddy was obviously preparing to throw a ‘baby’ fit. In attempt to diffuse the situation Frankie, nonchalantly, says, “You know what Freddy the best thing for us to do is go home. For now. We will resume this conversation later. I promise. Instead, of you throwing a fit, getting me into trouble with me mums, and all my sisters becoming mad at you again, let’s pause and resume tomorrow. Okay, my friend?” (Frankie always knows how to diffuse Freddy. She begins to speak with her English accent. No one knows if it is truly an accent from her birth place or not, but when it appears in her speaking, it is understood she means business!).

Freddy dropped his wings to his side and began to mope. “I guess, if that’s the way it has to be?”

“Yes, it is a fact. I will speak with you on our walk to school”

Freddy and Frankie hugged one last time and with a little less energy, he climbed into the passengers side of his Farher’s automobile. He didn’t say a word the entire trip home. His dad allowed him to ride in silence and they rode off into the sunset…with the top on the Corvette back & wind blowing through their feathers! If nothing else it was a terrific father/son trip.

To be continued…

Stay tuned, up next…Freddy discovers the entire evening, two weeks ago, was a set up. Frankie knew all day, Freddy was not aloud to go. But she chose not to tell him!

Go ahead and follow us to ensure you do not miss out on the next Adventure of Freddy & Frankie.

How would you feel if you were Frankie? Freddy? Mabel? Ralph? The 8 other siblings? Moms? Dad?

Do you think they will resolve the past, move on, and return to Best Friend status?

If you were Freddy would you NEED to know what happened?

Or could you let it go?

Thank you for reading and please remember everyone has down times. Everyone feels like ‘giving up’ at times, but we are singing a different tune!

We want you to Live, Live, Live & Love with all your HEART! And when you are kicked down (emotionally, physically, spiritually, economically) pick yourself back up & CARRY ON!

Freddy & Frankie learn the meaning of Perspective!

As the summer months flew by, Frankie and Freddy had became BEST FRIENDS FOREVER! They were inseparable! It was so bad that if the ‘family went to the theater one or the other tagged along. Even though Frankie’s moms had several flamingos to transport, they always told Freddy that they had plenty of room on the ‘family’ bus for one more!

One day, as Freddy was preparing to walk to his ‘besties’ house he over heard his mom talking on the telephone,”I am sorry to hear that. Of course Freddy will understand! He probably has some homework to catch up on anyways.”

When Freddy asked his momma who she was talking to she replied, with a sad low voice, “Freddy, you cannot go over to Frankie’s tonight. She has other plans.”

“WHAT?” Freddy spun around and questioned his mother with a mean, agitated, facial expression and adjusted his bow tie, in disbelief. How could this possibly be true? Thought Freddy. We tell each other EVERYTHING!

“I demand to talk to Frankie!” He spouted in as loud of a voice as Freddy can get, since he is not the fighter that Frankie can be!

He pulled his cell phone out of his pocket and called her. No answer! He was furious! Pacing back and forth. He text her…Hello? Are you there? Hello? What is going on?

No reply! He was now prepared to plea bargain with his momma, “Mom, I need to go over there!something is wrong and I am going to miss the movie! Its Tuesday night bargain night…please, I need to see her!

“No, Blue Momma requested you not come over tonight. I am sure Frankie will explain everything tomorrow.”

Freddy’s feathers were ruffled and he began to cry! He ran to his bedroom and buried his face in his pillow! He sobbed and sobbed, wondering why his best friend broke their date?

The next day at school Frankie tried to explain the circumstances, but Freddy was too upset, embarrassed, and mad! He shrugged his feathers, dropped his head, and said, “I don’t care. You can go hang out with your new best friend. I guess ‘he’ is so good that he can take my place.”

Frankie tried to interrupt Freddy’s pitty party, but Freddy was too frustrated, sad, irritated and a little mad. He turned around and walked away from Frankie…and in mid sentence.

Frankie was now extremely mad at how selfish Freddy was acting! “You know what? Freddy you are being a butt! I am not sorry you didn’t get to go, you are, you are…,” Frankie couldn’t think of anything else to say. She dropped her feathers straight down beside her gangly legs, turned on her heels, and let out a big GRRRRR. Then stomped away in the opposite direction of her ONCE BEST FRIEND…FREDDY!

To be Continued…

Have you ever had your feelings hurt so bad, you felt like the friendship wasn’t worth it?

Perspectives Change Everything…

I love to travel, meet new people, and experience other cultures. One of the main reasons is to look at the wide variety of perspectives and how they make me feel.

Let me see if I can illuminate this topic with different ‘perspectives’.

Oh how I love California! The ocean views, beautiful hiking, fabulous people, it is truly the land of opportunity! Movie stars, Millionaires, Beverly Hills, Shopping, and diversity beyond belief!

Oh how I hate California! Poverty, traffic, heroine alleys, gangs, fires, mud slides, and earthquakes.

Both Perspectives are completely true. No one can deny you can find each item on my list in California.

It is about your perspective and how you see it. Yes, life has some hand in what your perspective is.

For example, there was a young boy in North Carolina (on @Wave 3 News last night) who was selling Lemonade on the corner. His lemonade stand was robbed and he was held at gun point to give all of his, under twenty dollars, over to this man!

Omg, the first thing that went through my mind was how this poor boy felt. He is probably going to be scared to death to ever sell anything again. I mean he might have been ten years old…this is terrible! I feel so bad!!!

Then the rest of the story was released…Lowe’s in his town heard of this terrible robbery and ask the boy what he was selling ‘Organic Lemonade’ for. When he explained he was raising money to purchase a riding lawn mower, they gave him one!!!

I am not sure of the details if you want to read more look it up on Wave 3 News August 6th.

But what a lesson for everyone! That young boy has been given an entirely different perspective.

Life gave him lemons, he tried making lemonade, life created turpin tine, to give him a life line.

I mean yes we have much to celebrate! As for this young boy receiving a gift, but what about another perspective…he also received a terrific most valuable gift…his life!

What didn’t stop that criminal from robbing a young boys lemonade stand, did stop him from taking the boys life. Somewhere in that ‘bad’ person there is Good.

I know there will always be bad things that happen. I also realize just tilting your head slightly to the right or left, may not be able to ‘fix’ all the wrongs in the world today.

However, I do know that there is One Universal Goal that we ALL SHARE! What might that be? To Better…to better your life, abundance, emotions, life, legacy, spiritual connection the world. It doesn’t matter what you do or have done…us as humans are all in this together. To create a betterment for each other and generations to come.

Sometimes achieving the betterment goal, is by simply adjusting your focus.

Guess what adjusting your perspective automatically resets your focus. Which in turn creates one giant step towards YOU FEELING BETTER! Yippee!! That makes me feel happy and fancy free!

Take time to Pause today to glance at what your perspective is. Do you see all angles? Now decide which feels better and choose that perspective.

I promise if I focused on all the bad that I have had, I can’t imagine where I would have ever found my good friend, Glad!

I wish for you to see the good in everything around you! The cup is half full or half empty, if it has anything in at all. You get to choose your own Perspective!

The ripples intrigue me…

As I sit and ponder my next great adventure, I quickly notice the abrupt change in the flow of the Ohio River.

When I first arrived at the studio it looked like glass with out a peep of ripples to be noticed. Within seconds I looked out and half of the river continued to hold steady, allowing the trees to reflect their natural beauty. The other half had began to dance in a sweet melodious manner. Swaying back and forth as if the life under the water was just waking up.

Peaceful, intriguing, fabulous, calm, breezy, not quiet but rather sound waves surrounding the area. Filling this beautiful environment with sweet singing of birds, jets zooming by high in the sky, a breeze rustling the leaves, AND what did I just catch a glimpse of? An EAGLE soaring in all her glory!

Have you ever stopped and thought what are my intentions? How do I want to feel? How do I want others to feel?

The sweet whisper escapes my lips- For my part in YOUR reality & mine…I Love you, I am so sorry, please forgive me, and thank you!

We all have moments of doubt, anger, sadness, and depression…however, it’s all about your perspective that will either hold you to all the yesterday’s (which you cannot change) or you can change what you are focusing on. Leave the past back with all the would, shoulds, coulds, and can’ts.

If I were to hand you a new life…what would you change?

As always we are here for you. Life (coaching) can help with divorce, weight, breaking nasty habits, building healthy relationships, depression, parenting, tutoring (for all ages) and much more. But most importantly we want you to…

How dare you share your flatulence!!!

As I swam lap after lap, three men…one, two, & three, rotated in and out of the lanes, next to me.

I swam and swam with a sense of applausable luxury!

Until…Oh my! Oh me!

How can it be????

All three men… one, two, & three, are suffering from gas…where they must let their flatulence free!

Oh my! Oh me…why must you share with me?

Stay home if your belly is full and need a release…

Frrrrrt…Frrrrrt….. (Pause for one, two and three) yet another is free! FRRRRRRRRRRRRRT!

I jump up, lifting my head from under the water, starteled as can be…

Scanning the surface for, which of these three…one, two, & three, had bubbles illuminating, it was he?

Much to my surprise those peculiar three…one, two, & three, had disappeared!

Oh my! Oh me…what does this mean?

As I peeled my newΒ earplugs, out of my ears… the sounds were almost deafening!

And then I realized…the only sounds for me, while swimming with one, two, and three, were ME!Β

Could it be? It had to be! It was not they, who I was blaming, Not one, two, and three…sharing their flatulence with me…

Oh, How DARE you share your flatulence with thee!

So the next time you are BLAMING…Β he, her and me…

Look within , to see, if it is THEE! Who is letting the flatulence FREE!

The real mammogram, part two…

Somebody, asked, “Which part of the last story was fiction?”

I giggled a little until I was almost rudely laughing in my friends face! (Good thing she knows me). Anyways, as I attempted to get it straightened out, I replied with, “You know me! I will never admit how silly I am, especially about going to the doctor.”

She looked at me with a half glare and a half stare. However, she figured out I was only admitting SOME of it was true! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

This next story I may have written about, before, but I do hope to help any other big chickens, like me, get their mammogram!

After my crazy escapades throughout the day, I did actually miss my first mammogram! When I arrived, I apologized over and over again. (Thinking, she would be rude and snippy because I messed up the schedule).

The sweet lady, probably around thirty, said, “Calm down! We have mix up in schedules all the time.”

“Now give me a minute, I will look at the schedule and see what we can do.”

I thought, “Wow! She is simply precious!”

As I waited, shifting my foot from one side to the other, looking around and day dreaming of another day I could take off work, to of course, finally get this over with! I think maybe December or… January would be better after the holidays!

My thoughts were rapidly interrupted when, Margaret (whom I thought was a sweetheart) said, “Just have a seat, we have an opening in like fifteen minutes!”

WHAT? Now wait a cotton pickin minute! I wanted to shake my head noooo in a random motion and take off sprinting for the door! I think I can make it if I take proper position, get set, ready, GO! Okay no, I didn’t sprint out, instead I took a seat.

When she called my name, I can remember thinking, you got this, no worries.

The nurse took my vitals and she said, “Calm down Mrs. Drake. You are making your blood pressure be elevated.”

“Okay…I am really trying.”

Then I stepped on the scale and thought I would make a joke, I snickered and said, “I think I need to have somebody break my elbow, so I can’t get the fork to my mouth.” (Laughing and laughing at my own joke).

“Naa, it wouldn’t work they would hook straws together and feed you milk shakes!”

Oh boy, she is good! She never missed a beat, said it and kept on walking. Before she left me in the ‘other’ waiting room, she did giggle and remark with, “That was funny though, keep the utensils from your mouth!” Shakes her head and walks away.

In the beginning it was one large breasted lady sitting with me. She was kind of a mixture between Rosanne and/or the blonde medium, on tv. (But not as dolled up as the medium).

She began, “Hello, it’s your day eh? Mine too! They sometimes get you in and out, but other times you must wait.”

I smiled and didn’t say anything, I couldn’t have anyways!

She continued,”Don’t you hate these things? My husband told me he would take me out for dinner after this because he knows how bad I hate them. Don’t you hate them?” (She sucks in a huge breath of air to ensure she would have enough to finish her rambling).

“I mean and really they could get a better technician, she always has cold hands and a crappy personality. She is not personable. Why do they hire old bitter-bitties to do such a delicate job? I mean it hurts when she smashes these into that machine! Then she says get closer, stand up straight, suck it in, let it out, don’t move. All the while she is pulling and turning my boobs.”

Shew, she took a breath, but only to end with, “Don’t you agree?”

Don’t tell her Teena, just nod your head and let it go! It’s all I could think. However, I am really honest and of course I said, “I don’t know, I have never had one.” (With a quiver in my voice).

“What!!! Oh let me see, let me see.”

She turns me towards her, as if she was going to give me an exam. Looks at my breast and says, “You should be fine, I have alot of boob, so it hurts me more.”

As she was reliving all of her past mammograms and how horrific they were, a small framed, yet tall, lanky woman had slipped in the waiting room and strategically sat down, closest to the door. She quietly, almost as if she were talking to herself, chimed in, “I hate these things, my boobs are so fragile, it hurts and her hands are so cold,” (As if she frequented the mammograms so much, she knew the technician, like they had coffee together every week).

This clucking chatter continued to grow by leaps and bounds. As the loud, boisterous lady continued to attempt to ease my mind, new ladies appeared one by one. All had a new horror story. Some where about others and yet some were almost coming to life, as they relived each detail, of the dreaded, torturing mammogram!

If you have never had one, READ ON! It gets better, I promise!

As each name was called to enter behind ‘The Door’ I decided to change the scene, for me!

I mean (not trying to offend anyone), but I love my breasts. And I will do anything to keep them, even if it is essential, to endure a little pain.

As I slowly approached the gigantic door, I remember, physically lifting the girls up a bit, as to reassure them, “We got this!”

The small, late fifties, technician repeated my name, our eyes met and she began, in a robotical way, to explain what was about to happen and her expectations of me. I listened intently, looking for a joke to slide in and break the ice. There, right there Teena… “Now, Mrs. Drake there might be some discomfort, please just bare with me…”

I abruptly interrupted, “Mmmm I might like it…” (Pause, hold up, rewind, I quickly stopped my silly joke).

“Did you say pain?” (stammering around as if to explain I wasn’t meaning the pain, I would like, ummmmm, I was just trying to joke…)

Okay, it’s time for me to panic. I tried to explain my silly words and attempted to nicely tell her, what all I had been told about her. Of course it came out all wrong and I was for sure, I offended her. Until she had my right girl in her cold, bony hand then added the other one…awkwardly I jumped and shivered, a bit, as she gently placed it where it needed to be. As she began to release and LOWER the smasher hammer (I do not know what it is called), a quick pause, briefly happened and as the fear appeared on my face, we both BURST INTO LAUGHTER!!!!

“I mean do you ever think about telling people what you really think?” I asked as my laughter continued through each word.

“All the time! I mean it’s not like I am going to punch you and I try to be careful, but I only have so much, I can do.”

I chimed in as to assist her in her case, “Exactly, it could be worse.”

Not only did we become friends, I survived my first mammogram without a bruise and both girls intact!

Just remember everything is all based on perspective. How you perceive the world around you is, how you perceive yourself. Follow your path with a joyful heart!

God Loves You, No Matter What!

(Hope to see you December 8th!)

Thanksgiving Morning on the Farm

Of course I woke up at 4:30 in the morning, on the farm. However, this time I do not have to roll out of bed and start the Turkey. So I rolled over, tossed and turned for over an hour, finally slipped out of bed.

The sun was peeking up over the hill creating a sparkly blanket of frost across the land. As almost if old man Frost wanted to freeze time, even if for just a moment, to allow those of us up, to observe in amazement, his works.

Normally, when ‘back on the farm’ I am rushing around, barking orders, freaked out because something needs to be done, but this year I am not. Instead, I am enjoying the dancing moments where past meets the present and future is so boldly introducing herself! (In a good way).

I relish in the memories of laughters, tears, excitement and all other emotions attached to every crack, bump, or splashed syrup on the ceiling stains, still not fixed from previous years. As I reflect back I remember all the funny events of Thanksgivings. Once we moved to the river Eric knew when Baw Baw couldn’t, I would!

We have had family gatherings from Thanksgiving, Christmas, all the way to hey, its finally Spring, let’s have a get together. I remember one year, I counted 50 people and other than my farm family, there were maybe three other relatives, the rest were our adopted family members. (Which we tried counting the other day, how many of those we have. It made us laugh and get all sentimental because the number was too difficult to solidify. We would become so wrapped up in naming someone and then attaching a fun or funny story, that the list continues to grow).

Sorry, Eric tells me all the time I get off on tagents, that was one of them.

Today, Thanksgiving Day 2017 is a bit different. The kids were all busy, Eric & I just arrived and have been in paradise for so long we struggled with returning to 21 degrees. So I am so excited that I get to go celebrate with one of my favorite little girls!!! My niece Lucy!

Although change isn’t always easy, it is inevitable. As for me I choose to embrace the changes, make the most of the new opportunities, revel over the past, enjoy the now…this moment.

Maybe you are like me and you are sitting on your front porch, wrapped up in something similar to a cacoon, listening to the Crows call, and you want to be sad for a moment due to the ‘change’ in traditions. However, I ask you to tilt your head from one side and then the other, close your eyes…hold them shut for one extra moment. Now open them and wait for your eyes to refocus. What do you see? A different perspective.

Don’t worry about ‘creating’ a new Tradition, that can sometimes create more anxiety than good, but rather enjoy right now! Whether you are with one person or several, maybe you are alone, it doesn’t matter search to feel good, this moment, feel terrific. Then expect another terrific moment and another and before you can blink your eyes, this day will be another memory! Hopefully even better than you expected.

If someone forgets to tell you today: ” YOU! Are AWESOME, WORTHY, LOVABLE and AMAZING!

Grateful for you!!!
