What’s your ‘Happy’ color? How to find it, if you don’t know…

Most do this naturally, but once you recognize the silent joy, something as simple as a color can bring you…life becomes magically COLORFUL!

Background: I began researching the color pink many years ago. How it increases sells, draws people in, & is an instant magnet. However, this research was to assist small business owners in growing their business, with colors.

Then I opened Livelove and entitled myself a Pinkologost, one who studies pink. At first it was kind of a joke, but as our business evolved, more & more request came in about the connection between color and joy.

That’s when I transitioned the pinkologist to a working title.

How colors can change Everything.

Throughout my research I would interview people who were bold in showing off their favorite color (like me) & those who seemed to be colorless.

I noticed those who had an idea of their favorite color/s seemed to be more at peace. All, had a sense of happiness & joy, which followed them, wherever they went. Those who were unaware of their favorite colors or tones, seemed to mimic the lack of color in their lives. They discussed gloom & doom topics & dismissed the thought that a COLOR could change their attitude.

How to find your color that brightens your life?

1. Become more aware of which ones you are attracted to.

2. When you see a color that draws you in (if possible) touch it, stare at it, & allow your emotions to take over.

3. Now begin to add that color or tone into your life. I use the term tone, as well, because I found that if someone loves blue, they have several blue hues, that make them smile. The same with me…I love one particular pink immensely, but I enjoy all tones of pink.

4. If you enjoy this a great deal, entitle yourself…a blueologist or like me a pinkologist! It means you study the color that brings you joy! (Doesnt that sound like fun?)

You don’t have to spray paint your hair for this to work! Lol!!!! I only do this occasionally, for a good laugh! But the amount of ‘pink’ in this picture does make me Smile.

Go ahead, begin to search for that color that can instantly put a smile on your face or comfort you from all types of harm.

Then begin to embrace and utilize your ‘color’. It becomes similar to a game of hide & seek. You will begin to buy those clothes that you are drawn to and yes you will be amazed at how many are based on your favorite color.

Happy Color Hunting!

How do you know?

One of the funniest questions I have asked people has been what makes you happy? Why? I have had the funniest answers from– you Teena,  make me happy.  Yet, others looked at me with a puzzled look and said I have no idea. Like they were waiting and anticipating to be told WRONG ANSWER YOU ARE WRONG! In reality, there is no wrong answer. Being asked that question isn’t truly a fair question. It’s actually a trick question. A question that begins at the concious mind and filters through to the subconscious, only to throw your mind into a blank stare.

In other words sometimes we can’t list what makes us happy, but when we are in the moment we can tell you one hundred or more things that make or create happiness for us. It’s a feeling AWE it’s a great feeling.

Here we go, one of the first steps to feeling your way to happiness-

  1. Get a piece of paper
  2. Draw a shape in the middle that you can write your name in, like a circle or square, it doesn’t matter what kind of shape.
  3. Write your name in the middle
  4. Next draw lines coming out from your name.
  5. Write activities, music, thoughts, colors.
  6. It can be as messy as you would like or as neat. This is ONLY YOURS you may share it or you may keep it to yourself.
  7. Now lay it down, pick it back up and read your name in the middle and create a sentence with one of your likes. Example: Teena LOVES Pink! Sometimes I will say I, Teena, love pink.
  8. After you have said a wonderful positive statement that you love or makes you happy…close your eyes inhale, then exhale, see or visualize what you said and smile.
  9. Now you can understand what it means by feeling your way to happiness!
  10. Repeat 7, 8, 9 throughout this Web you have created. Individually do each thing you wrote. Take time to feel the emotional attachment to each item you listed.

You can do this daily, weekly, or when you need it. We will return to this activity several times. I may even repost it intermittently during our blogs.

This is a quick and easy way to begin setting and re-setting your vibration. It is also a simple way to begin gravitating towards adding the happy activities you love to do, towards you. Maybe you love to canoe and you complete the activity. Before long someone will mention, hey let’s go canoeing.

Take time to find what creates a happy feel good emotion for you and do more of that! I promise even through difficult times life is meant to be happy the majority of the time.

    Color me Pink?

Color me pink, what color best describes you? Underneath my signature on Gmail I have an entire list of titles. Included in those, probably my favorite is ‘Pinkologist.’ What? Why would you entitle yourself such a bizarre ologist?

This began a couple of years ago, when my wonderful step mom, began describing a man who was a happyologist! She continually repeated I have found your next career. At first I was skeptical, what did it entail? The questions piled up until I had to begin researching who, what, when and where can I study a happyologist? Amazingly enough, it is an awesome career. Companys hire happyologist for a multitude of reasons. These people have job titles which are combined with a broad spectrum of responsibilities.

After a great deal of research, I can say I study happiness on a day by day basis. Therefore, one of my titles can be-a happyologist. The only difference between the two is my title includes colors.

What is the difference? My new program incorporates color and happiness intertwined as one. For example: colors are a big part of the brain. Marketing companies have studied and refined which colors to utilize in the commercial campaigns, to ensure buyers are attracted to the product, based on its background or signature colors.

Therefore, as a Pinkologist I began to study the relationship between people and their favorite colors. For me it’s PINK! anytime I purchase something pink it makes me happy. I smile when I see bright colors, but my smile takes over my entire face when Pink is involved! I have written down almost every compliment received on my pink. Pink sparkly nails, dresses, sandals, rain boots and much more. When I am feeling my best and adorned in a pink outfit, I feel terrific. Inevitaby those ‘feel good’ emotions spill over into my daily routines. A pep in my step, smile on my face and life is pinkalicious to me.

However, don’t take my word for it! Try it yourself. This can be your first step on your journey to being blissfully happy! It is a simple task.

First, continue your day as normal. As colors enter you daily routine, take a minute to feel the emotional attachment to each color. Some you may not feel anything, others you may cringe, but when you see YOUR COLOR! Then you know. The color will provide you with a sense of awe. A pleasing almost natural feeling will come over you. As you continue this process you will feel the fascinating change in your brain and emotional state.

Colors will change me? Yes!!! If you have read my recent post, you will know my mission is to research, study, and gather information to pass on to you. About? Happiness!!! Living YOUR LIFE to the highest state of happiness, you have ever imagined.

If and when you attend one of our shows (coming to you in the Fall of 2017 and 2018) colors will be a portion of the demonstrations.

Begin today to find your color. You don’t have to become an ologist of your color (or you can). The only thing you need to do is find the color which brings a smile to your face.

Does it have to be one color? No, one of my dear friends loves different colors for different reasons. For example she loves to decorate with one scheme of colors and yet wears another. It’s not about being right or wrong it’s about seeing the beautiful array of colors and find one or a combination of colors, so when your brain absorbs the color it creates a warm- fuzzy feeling inside and puts a big smile on your face.

For me Pink creates those feel good emotions inside of me and in turn- projects it to my outside demeanor.

Take time to try it!!! Do not allow outside campaign ads or awareness groups to take your color. When I first began this adventure many people said,”Oh do you work for Susan G Komen with Breast Cancer Awareness.”

Don’t let those attachments ruin it for your color. Those ‘full of colors’ campaigns are for marketing purposes only, they serve a good purpose, but they do not own the colors. Therefore, when you are shopping, hiking, painting or working see the colors that privide a great emotional feeling inside of you. Next surround yourself with it. I want you to take time this week to find your feel good color or colors.

God Bless and remember YOU ARE AMAZING AND YOUR COLOR ADORNS YOU WELL!!!!!

    Best Sister-n-law

I wish for each of you to have great family member, that just knows you or get’s you. This past Christmas I was suffering a great deal and remember very little about the festivities. However, that didn’t stop Aunt Jenny from planning a head and giving me yet another amazing Christmas gift!

This picture is the beginning of my brand new studio! Strategically planned and placed are the pieces she gave me for my new business. The sign is Live, pillow says love and it is pink! I love it so much the entire company has formed it’s name around her idea!!

Before long you will be able to sign up and either attend an amazing event, coming to a city near you or purchase materials and unique gifts/books from my company entitled…Live, Love, pink! Of course it won’t mostly be about the color pink, but once it is completed you will understand the concept 😎😙.

However, I don’t want to tell you anymore about the company because today is about my sister-n-law, who is amazingly in tune with me. Thank you Aunt Jenny for inspiring and understanding me!! You rock!!!

True Story! Changed My Life Forever!!! If you get bored or don’t like to read just skip down to the bold text….Changed my life FOREVER AND EVER!

Yesterday on September 7,2016 my life was forever changed! I began my day as normal… fixing Nick’s lunch, sent him on his marry way, working on the computer, marketing my book, posting and writing articles. At about noon I sat in front of my computer and began to cry! I cried and cried. I am truly unsure what I was crying about I was just being a big baby!!!!

I randomly received one of the sweetest text from my daughters new boyfriend and lifelong family friend, thanking me for being kind. I explained how appreciative I was and told him about doubting myself and thinking I made a mistake! His text in response to my blubbering and feeling sorry for myself: “Of all sad words of mouth or pen, the saddest are these: it might have been,” John Greenleaf Whittier.

You would think I would accept it and get over feeling sorry for myself!!!!! However, I cried some more, thanked him and began to pray. Continuing to fight the horrible selfish feelings of ‘poor me’ I called my mom. Oh wow, was she in for a big melt down! Of course she is always open to listen and help whenever needed, poor thing she has been putting up with me for over forty years!!

I proceeded to explain my emotional roller coaster through the outburst of tears, “Oh mommy, I have made a mistake! I miss my friends, all the kids, I can’t stand working on the computer, I can’t figure out how to create a good website, I want to make the world a brighter place, I want….IIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!! You see the trend? Yes it was all about me and I! I was not being grateful for my opportunities, husband, children, mother or anything else for that matter. I was having a selfish, horrible, insecure moment like none other!!!

What happened next changed my life FOREVER AND EVER…

I went to the grocery and was minding my own business. Everyone was so kind and helpful that I had already began to feel ashamed, for my outburst of negative energy. I saw this woman in a wheel chair, still beautiful and vibrant, but her husband was pushing her. She was probably about forty or so. I smiled at her and kept walking. (My little spirit was saying you are an awful person for feeling sorry for yourself, life could be worse!) I went to check out and they were behind me…I asked, “Would you like to go in front of me? You only have three items.”

She smiled and said, “No, I don’t get out much so waiting in line is okay.”

Really? Teena Drake, God is stomping all over you with messages. She didn’t say much else and he didn’t offer to explain. Although if you know me I want to know everyone’s story! But they did not appear to be open to discussion.

Then it happened…I turned around and they were gone! What? Where did they go? Did I offend them? I quickly scooted out to see if they were down another aisle or checkout line. Nothing. While I was trying to find this lovely couple, I passed a lady standing behind me! She was skin and bones and slumped over a bit, had a red bandanna on her head, and appeared to be alone. .

Her demeanor was frail, but sweet like a breath of fresh air. Even her aroma was exceptionally pleasing. She looked at me and said, “I know you…I watch your videos. You scared me to death on that bicycle riding down Coopers Bottom Rd.”

I have to admit I was stunned!

“Yes, I love to ride my bike and I love posting videos, but I do not do it all the time.”

“Why not? Your videos brighten my day! I laugh at you and sometimes go back to watch them! I think you should post all the time because people like me, who are sick and can’t get out a lot live vicariously through you!”

I began to give her excuses, “Sometimes my hair hasn’t been colored, I don’t have any makeup on, or I don’t think I am good enough. Have you seen how professional even the kids are on YouTube?”

I even explained to this woman how I worried about my blogging was not good enough!!!!!

(At this point someone needed to slap me, but she just grinned.)

Next she said, “Honey, life is too short. If you want to do it do it! Enjoy each moment and you have a gift. So go home write, post, blog and make videos. The world needs someone like you and you already make the world a brighter place just keep doing it!”

I teared up and checked out. The young man helping bag my groceries was asking me a question… I turned around to thank her and ask her name…She was GONE! I looked at the cashier and said, “Where did that lady go? You know the one I was talking to about my videos? The lady with the bandanna? Hello????? Where did she go I didn’t get her name so I can’t look her up!”

The cashier looked at me puzzled and said, “What lady? I am sorry are you okay? You look pale and are you crying? Did I say something wrong?”

That poor cashier was worried sick. I stood there and just cried. Looked around like I was lost! I felt like a dementia patient for a moment. Everyone was starring at me as I continually searched for this precious nameless woman who had changed my life forever. I calmly pushed my cart to the truck, unloaded and sat there with one last cry. However, this cry was a grateful one. I thanked God for his gift of love and made a grateful list immediately.

Now on September 8th, 2016 I want each of you reading this to know! You don’t have to be perfect. I may post videos of me walking the dogs or riding my bike or just something funny I thought of, but it doesn’t matter because I know I am helping someone else smile and laugh. Take time to laugh it is the most healing emotion you can have.

I love you all and God Bless!!!!

Who am I and why would you want to follow me?

Who am I? My name is Teena and I am the one in the picture standing next to my wonderful life partner Eric. As you may be able to tell my family is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, my beautiful step-daughter is not in this picture, she is pursuing her Masters and could not get away for vacation.

My profession at this time is educating eighth graders in integrated Science. However, my lifelong dream is now coming into fruition. I am pursuing a career in writing. If you follow me and read my blog you will laugh, cry, giggle, learn, be intrigued and enjoy funny stories about life.

My current book is about Sex Education. Oh I forgot you will probably read a great deal about Sex. Sex education, Sex after forty, Sex after marriage, a great deal about SEX and relationships. I am not sure why, but it always comes up in conversation, when I am around. Maybe because it is one of my favorite topics. Not in a porn type either just a fact of life. LOL

I love people of all walks of life and love to travel. I do have ADHD therefore I struggle with sticking to one topic (that might be why I keep skipping around and it has taken me 8 years to complete my first book!).

You will also read about public education, students and their struggles, marriage, parenting and great places to travel or not so great!

I love water! I love swimming pools, spas, lakes, rivers, the ocean, and if I can not get to any of those I am happy with a hot bath. So expect to read about some fabulous vacations/holiday places! I will always try to post pictures of sights to see, great food, service and lodging.

My favorite color is PINK! Not bubble gum pink, but hot pink! I love it so much I have incorporated it into my new career path. As I present my book, I will have pink everything. I have even began studying the color pink and how it is best described as bubbly, happy, fun, joyful, free-spirited, laughter, irresistible, and much more. Hence the reason my kids have now began calling me Mommy the pinkologist!

The most important piece of information you should know is I love God and my message to the world is he loves you!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOO I am in no way shape or form a religious fanatic. I truly do believe God Loves and Accepts EVERYONE!!!!!!!

My intentions are to post everyday for the next 365 days. I truly hope I can fulfill this goal. This is my first blogging experience so it will not be perfect. Oh who am I kidding, I told you I have ADHD I will never be perfect. Sometimes I may skip around, but I promise if you will keep reading you will get a laugh at one time or another and learn something as well!

My motto is from Jack Canfield- “If it aint fun don’t do it!”

I hope you enjoy the next 364 days with me, if I miss a day (which could happen especially if I am traveling) I will catch it up! Come follow me on a great adventure. I can’t wait to empower you to have a fun-filled life and take time to enjoy!!!!!!
