K.I.S.S. Life

Keep, it, simple, silly! What? Yes, keep your life simple.

At this very moment I deleted an entire blog posting, explaining K.I.S.S. and how important it is. Then I realized you don’t have time to read all my lengthy explainations! Therefore…I am going to show you how to K.I.S.S. you life!

Scenario: You are experiencing sadness, a loss, a focus on what is. Basically, life to you, at this moment FEELS UGH! Whatever the circumstances are, you just can’t quit thinking about all the crud, going on right at this time.

Change your thoughts! 

Thank you, We are done here! 

Okay, I am joking. I realize how difficult life can seem, at times. I also realize it doesn’t work to continuously think about the ‘it’ you are concerned about.

(Definition of the IT- lover, kids, step-children, ex-partner, cars, jobs. In adult worlds the three hot topics are MONEY, WEIGHT or Body appearance, and LOVE.  A Kid’s world is similar, but they seem to change their perspective, much quicker)

How then do we fight this feeling of depression, sadness and/or Ughness?

Try this:

Without doing anything else…

Right at this moment…

Think of TEN of the silliest words, nonrelated to your It, and be as crazy and random as you want! Have FUN!!!!!

Let’s try this together…

You begin to tell me all your ‘stuff’ or how frustrated, sad, irritated, lonely, depressed, broke, unhappy or however else you feel.

Bubble Butt, pink poop, grasshopper slime, slurpy, hairy balloons (hahahah you thought I would say b_lls), frolicking, freaky, green burps, blurple!

Example: You as of this moment, “I cried all night because he said… (I am abruptly intterupting, hypothetically)

Pink Poop!” (Pause) You giggle…

You, “I just can’t believe someone would do this to me…”

Bubble Butt

Come on you are LAUGHING! Admit it!

Go ahead… Read or say the list out loud. Yes, out loud! Yes, while discussing all your crud or your IT! Do IT.

After you have stopped laughing. Do you feel better? Did your problem go away? NO, but it will. Because we know, “This too shall pass.”

It may seem to simple, but if you were to truly step back and analyze your life from this age and back, do you remember the difficult times? Of course you do. Do you remember feeling like you would NEVER GET THROUGH THIS? Of course you do! But you did!

You made it, You aren’t sure how, but you DID IT. Now reflect back…did worrying, crying and feeling UGH for a long period of time assist you in any way? Of course it didn’t. It only caused you more harm and you probably became sick, if you prolonged the worrying!

I realize LIFE can be tough at times. However, I have learned the more you K.I.S.S It the much easier, even the tough times, can be!

Okay, Google it…

When people begin to become uncomfortable they tend to say I am unhappy or sad. Which is a needed emotion to appreciate the thrilling moments throughout life. The key is to decide how long do you want to stay unhappy or sad. In other words yes, you will experience times of sadness in your life, even once you begin to live in a happy and appreciative state, 99 percent of the time. However, those moments become minimal when you remember, “The best for me will always be!”

Are you still doubting the possibility of living happy 99 percent of the time?

Okay, Google it…Is it possible to be happy all the time? Or the majority of the time?

(The theme song of Jeopardy is playing in my head)

What did you find? Was the answer clear? Yes or No?

Yet, although you researched it, are you happy with whichever answer you chose? Based on what? Evidence? Personal Emotions? Historical Events?

The truth is it didn’t matter to Google your objective opinion, you ask a question and Google provided you with a beautiful array of choices to choose from. As well as added on a few ‘different’ perspectives, in case you didn’t find the answer which resonated with you.

Wow! Did you know life is the same way? You shout out, “I want to be happy” or “How can I be wealthy so then I can be happy?” Maybe, “I want love, peace, comfort.”

Go ahead, try again…Google it!

It is true anything you are searching for or focusing on will appear in one form or another. Whether you search it, meditate on it, or just think about it. Think about your last search. What KEY WORDS did you use? Those are your key thoughts. If they are serving you well, then stick to it, you are on the right track. However, if those key words/thoughts are not continuously returning  your mind to a more pleasant place, it might be time to go back and perform another search.

If you were searching for something, on the internet, for work or any other reason and your first search was a flop, would you just give up and shut down the computer? Never to search again?

That may seem a bit dramatic. But let me ask you something…Is this what you do to your beautiful thoughts and ideas when they appear? Do you shut them down by reflecting to your past and ‘Proving’ to yourself this will never work? Yet, every time you hear about this topic your heart sings?

It is time to treat your life-like you do your Google Search. If you do not receive the desired results at first…change your key words and search until you reach your desired destination!

Okay Google…spell Success- T-E-E-N-A! (Put your name in place of mine. Doesn’t that feel TERRIFIC!)

Don’t Quit…Change Your Vocabulary!

As I wrap up my first book for Livelove’s ‘Happy’ Curriculum, I have moments where I want to quit. The questions run through my head like a hamster trapped on an exercise wheel. Is this worth my time? What makes you think YOU can accomplish your goals? What are your objectives? Maybe I should quit and get a J-O-B. As you can tell it is mostly negative vocabulary.
During my twelve and fourteen hour days of writing, I am amazed at how I do not want to stop, Eric usually has to insist I close my computer down.

If I am super happy while writing then why do I question my ability? Last night the answer to this question and all the other ‘stinkin thinkin’ thoughts or questions came to me like a shooting star. I needed to change my vocabulary! (Zig Ziglar)

I am super excited to share this bit of information with you. This post will be different than most. Today we practice!

Instructions:

Begin to listen to what you say…
About yourself
Your dreams
Goals
Life
Health
Anytime you say something that is not positive or good, stop yourself and change ONE Vocabulary word you used…For example:
Quit—Break
Hardship–Hurdle
Struggles–Moments
Next, begin to create your ideal situation in your mind…
I am a terrific author.
I help a lot of people.
I feel amazing!

Dwell on things that create a feeling of AWE! I am okay. As you continue to divert the words that come out of your mouth and negative thoughts, you will begin to feel like a rose bud about to open her petals to create a beautiful flower.
Next, try this experiment:

Write down words that make you feel good, they do not have to be connected to your work or goals, simply write words. My list:
Pink
bubbles
love
hearts
water
writing
exploring
traveling
ocean breeze

Now read one word at a time, then close your eyes and FEEL the word. If you have a partner have them read the words aloud while you sit and feel each word.
When you have completed this activity the happy emotions will continue until YOU decide to add in resistance.

Don’t take my word for it, Try it!

It doesn’t always take an entire self-help book to reroute the trajectory of your life, sometimes you only need to change your vocabulary!

Writing Zone

When in writing zone no one else exist. Today has already been a terrific day and it isn’t even noon yet! I had to stop everything I was doing to write on my blog. The topics continue to race through my head for example…”Did you know following instructions can improve your life? or How to know if you are pleasing your partner? or even When I write, I become lost?”

Therefore, you can see why I am sitting down moments before I am suppose to meet some friends for lunch, opening my computer and typing until I can not type anymore. I simply can not help myself. I want to share with you my silly thoughts and hopefully brighten your day.

It is September 12, 2017 and I am suppose to be getting dressed, having lunch with friends, going to the gym and probably working on my new business, “Livelove LLC.” (I will let you in on the Grand Opening as soon as I have a firm date set, I am so excited for this adventure). Anyways, I am now typing away in the ‘writing zone.’ Where no one or anything else exist. There are no worries, fears, anger or anxiety. Just shear freedom. Freedom of thought, Freedom of Speech and Freedom to Breathe! If you show choose you can title your blog as Fiction! Fiction! Fiction! and puctuation, rhyme or reason, shoulds, coulds and woulds are obsolete. Oh I know the English Majors want to control a portion of that statement, Punctuation. (However, it’s true if you so choose, you can use whatever punctuation you want! Or none at all! However, if you have someone read, your writing and they only express what they read, you might want to reconsider)

Anywhoo…As I find myself becoming extremely abundant with new partnerships, sponsorships, friendships, happy relationships, I some times slip off to this sweet spot, my blog and type.

I was asked the other day, “How much would you charge for people to read your blog?”

I shivered at the thought (because they are priceless to me)! Remember, when I started writing, after my accident, I told everyone I am sharing this information for selfish reasons. Why you ask? Because I was given several extremly special messages, on how to create a life full of blissfull happiness, during one of the seemingly worst times of my life. However, my one requirement or agreement was that I would share it with others.

Therefore, I will always continue to share my inner thoughts on here. Some topics are funny others are not, but all will benefit us all.

Back to ‘Writing Zone’ today my thoughts drift off into money = ? Hmmm this is a deep thought and I am not sure where I am going with it, just yet. However, I am in the writing zone so it doesn’t really matter! I can let it flow. I am free, blissful and happy while in this private, yet by choice public, writing zone. I can write negatively about money, I can write how to get more of it? or How it can be both beneficial or detrimental. Or I can continue on how amazing my writing zone is!!!!!!

Did you just feel what I did in that last paragraph? I provided you with a limited amount of emotions to follow along as you read. Some of you, at this point, are frustrated with my bouncing from topic to topic. While others love it and follow in perfect harmony. However, it doesn’t matter which emotion/feeling you had, it was ‘real’ to you.

I know one thing for sure, whatever else I decide to write about, I will be in my ‘Happy Spot.’ My dear friend reminded me, “Once you find your sweet spot you will do anything to stay in it!”

The truth is she is one hundred percent correct. And if you are like me, you probably have several sweet spots or happy spots. When I am with Eric time stands still. It always has! I love being with other people in fact my favorite thing to do is travel around meeting new people. That is two examples of other ‘Happy Spots’ , I have in my life. Being with my children, all  of my family, working on my business the list continues on and on. The trick to this being negative or positve, happy or sad, is up to YOU!

You are the ‘sweet spot.’ You are perfect the way you are! Can you improve your life? Yes,. Can you become successful or find your ‘Sweet Spot’ after all that has happened? It is too late? No, no, no switch your focus right now and your happiness journey will begin.

Hmmmm… Have I gone way off track? Yes, I am bouncing around like a bouncy ball. However, don’t forget this is my blog and the should, could, woulds do not exist, by choice!

Therefore, lets return to the conversation of, YOU are the ‘Sweet Spot!’

Because it is your choice how you feel. Let me explain this in a different manner…Based on your paradigm, your choice of thoughts and how you handle YOUR Circle of Influence which guess who that is? YOU, is your happy/sweet/joyful/loving/best for YOU Spot! No you can not dispute it. The truth is its up to you and how you feel towards, about or through anything in life.

Probably the most annoying question I have been asked since my accident has been; How did you make it through that crazy of a break? Not that it made me mad or anything like that, but sometimes I do want to respond with something crazy like, “After surgery, I looked at those doctors and I said ‘I meant to do that guys, it was just a test from the Angels, to see if I was ready for the life I always wanted.”

Then I jumped up and ran out of the hospital, grabbed Eric on my way out, was healed and I saw the light!!!!

Come on!!!! I have earned my Expert titles through the school of hard knocks. I didn’t see the signs that say slow down, you are not going in the right direction. Therefore, my healing process was not easy to endure, but beneficial for my life as well as yours. But what oher choice did I have? I had plenty of choices, I just chose to feel better, improve and live for today.

Next time, you are faced with a negative or difficult situation. Stop, breathe and feel the right or correct decision, that brings you closer to your life long dreams, coming true. I was hard headed and had to take the long way around, but you don’t have to. Find your happy spot or spots and go to them more and more. The more you visit, the sooner they will become your reality.

That’s okay punch me again and again I can take it! 

Sound familiar? How many of us say have you ever noticed when it rains it pours? This is very true it appears that deaths come in threes, I don’t know if it is multiples of 3, but you get the idea. Sometimes it feels like one financial tragedy leads to another or another or even another. 

Wait a minute! I guess insufficient funds means insufficient funds across the board. Therefore, it would be a dominoe effect. Meaning yes the more you focus on negative or ‘unhappy’ thoughts the more negative and ‘unhappy’ thoughts will appear. The GREAT NEWS IS…THIS UNIVERSAL LAW GOES BOTH WAYS! 

What? You mean I can begin to think a happy thought and it will go away? Yes, it can be that easy. However, I must admit if you go back and read my past few blogs you will see the ups and downs. Let me explain. I am on this great journey that began with a tragedy…Although I always knew my mission and passion I wasn’t fortunate enough to bring it all together until now 45 years later. However, I am grateful I am where I am now and want to share this journey with you. Okay if you were lost you are up to speed now, you may read on.

Anyways, after my lovely message of freezing negative events in your brain, walk away, bla bla bla. Yes if you read it, you understand. Anyways it is all very true and utilizing that technique is important and easy after you learn how!!! So after I wrote about ways to divert negative energy from punching you when you are down ,is to think happy thoughts and come back to it, I didn’t imagine I would have to test it. However, I did! I guess I should say I was privileged enough to try this technique. However, at the time I didn’t see it coming and shew I learned my lesson fast enough to move on. 

Okay so I am traveling down interstate 70, sunroof open, stero blasting 80s music on satellite radio, blue skys, I had blogged and was feeling on top of the world. Then I get a phone call from a disgruntled daughter who I am happy to hear from, but she proceeds to complain and says something that made me mad. I mean I was really mad in like ten seconds flat. Psycho mom stuff! 

I said, “Okay honey (gritting my teeth while forcing a smile like she could see me) I think we should hang up now. Mommy is driving and doesn’t want to have something bad happen, so I am gonna disconnect this phone call now.”

At that moment I began to think now I understand why people think when they are down life keeps punching them down even further. 

Don’t get me wrong my emotions were real and I had legitimate reasons for being mad, I also explained all of my expectations and how I felt and why I reacted that way and she was all about herself and why was she like that? SHEWY! That was a great deal of typing when all you need to know is recognize…I was more concerned about me, myself, and I than I was about my baby girl. I will admit it. Don’t mistaken me I always put the kids first, but after reading the above writing I was still struggling with letting go of control, which benefits or appeases me! Anyone, who knows me, knows I love and adore my children. This was the dumbest argument we had ever had in our entire lives. That’s how I knew it was a quick trip to a negative environment to look for the correct tool to use when a situation like this arises. 

We hung up and my phone went from 20 percent to zero percent in like five minutes flat. My charger won’t charge and I am getting ready to be riding solo for a few hours. I froze my anger as if it was a still frame from an old film, in my brain. Then I began to brag out loud about my daughter to the air and traffic, I probably appeared to be a lunatic. By the time I could use my phone I had teared up thinking about how amazing of a baby she was and all that she has accomplished in life, in just a short time. 

Many people will agree, it appears life kicks you down when your at your lowest. ( Or something like that). But it goes both ways. I had talked myself into letting go of this argument based on false expectations that no one knew about, except me. I truly just let it go and yes I felt a bit argumentative. However, after I listened to myself and I got over being mad ; I began recalling all of her adorable, funny, looks, sayings or even her long three hour self  written and orchastrared songs.  No the situation didn’t vanish immediatly but as soon as I recognized it for what it is, it vanished. 

That was my opportunity to test the tools and techniques. The argument didn’t become damaging to either of us, when it was over it was over. I even took time to thank her and explain what was going on. We kissed hugged and made up. 

So yes you will have moments that life will knock you down. Work, family, kids, outside events…your job is to find the quickest and simplest way to divert the energy 😋!  Find a happy image or thought to quickly change scenes in your mind. At first this will be a struggle but keep at it, keep practicing because your end result is phenomenal!
